Carnival Cruise Lines
Carnival Cruise Lines was founded in 1972 headquartered in Miami, Florida, and is currently the world's largest cruise line. The company the company was originally known as the cruise industry's version of a floating fraternity party for a very long time. Recently however that has changed, and while Carnival still commands a certain reputation for a party, flashy, neon atmosphere, its ships continue to evolve and change.
Carnival is particularly known for enhancing cuisine, a new top-notch children's program, and expanding its itinerary offerings beyond traditional Caribbean and Bahamas trips to regions such as Atlantic Canada and Alaska. In 2002 Carnival offered its first European itineraries, and in 2005, Carnival Liberty spent a full season in Europe. These are great destinations, however the company's best seller has been short vacations of three to seven nights embarking from regional U.S. ports, and it has deployed most of its Fantasy-class ships to those markets. Nearly all of those ships have been remodeled to include updated buffet venues, children's areas, new water parks and adult serenity decks.
Carnival Cruises is one of the world's most innovative cruise lines. In 1996, it debuted the first passenger vessel to exceed 100,000 tons: Carnival Destiny. It was also the first major cruise line to build and operate a completely smoke-free cruise ship, Carnival Paradise.
Standard cabins include robes, and the "Comfort Bed" sleep system features deluxe plush mattresses, soft duvets, high quality linens and upgraded pillows. (Suite passengers have a "suite pillow menu" from which to select a specific pillow of their liking.)
When I think of my Carnival Cruise experience I almost want to tell people that it is like Mardi Gras at sea. During the day you will see young adults drinking cocktails by the pool, while dancing and enjoying the company of a live band. During the day it may be calm and relaxed, but when the sun goes down, that all changes. The night time activities range from lavish production shows to R-rated comics. They offer both casinos and discos, both staying open very late for some adult fun.
There was a very wide variety of passengers ranging from young singles to retired couples; all depending on the time of year your cruise is. Even though it is a big party ship, Carnival offers the largest cabins at sea enabling you to get away from all of the craziness. The cruise line is packed with delicious food and you will be amazed at how well the entire ship is managed.
The fun on this ship is non stop activities and fun events. Attendance is not mandatory, however if you are looking to catch up on some sleep, you may want to pack along some ear plugs.
Carnival Cruise line can be one of the best deals around offering an array of activities for all age groups, great food, and great quality value. Carnival is for sure a cruise line that gives you the most bang for your buck.
